South West Camerata Alumnus Joseph Straker's Double Bass Workshop Whipton Community Hall Saturday 8 March 2014: A message from Fiona McLean-Buechel

Orchestral workshop
and performance
for double bass players

A two hour workshop, of which the final twenty minutes is a performance, looking at some bass parts from the orchestral repertoire. This is an exciting opportunity to work on orchestral repertoire which is interesting for the bass and to prepare it in a section.

This FREE workshop and performance will take place on
Saturday, 8th March from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

at:

Whipton Community Hall,
Pinhoe Road,
Whipton,
Exeter,
EX4 8AD

The workshop is for a maximum of 10 players so be quick to book a place!

The level of difficulty of the workshop will depend on the applicants but as a guideline from grade 5/6 upwards is best. I encourage younger players to attend and of course there is no upper age limit.

The workshop will be led by Joseph Straker, a 4th year classical double bass student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

I intend to video record the workshop and performance as part of my degree.
