This programme of predominantly Mahler and Schubert songs, including Mahler’s Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen and Kindertotenlieder, is also the first of several concerts this week to include works by resident composer Harrison Birtwistle.

This concert is dedicated to the memory of Thomas Hemsley who introduced and ran the advanced opera course for many years at the Summer School.
