Yesterday on Palm Sunday we held a very successful ISM event at Dunsford Village Hall organised by Christine Marsden and Carolyn Harries, and musically directed by Margaret Aagesen Hughes.
The workshop involved the Brahms Liebeslieder Waltzes, and 28 singers attended along with 4 pianists. It was a very rewarding and enjoyable day. This sort of music-making event is just the sort of thing that we need in the Devon and Cornwall Centre.
Yesterday, combined with our Burns Night event [Topsham], makes 2 successes already in 2012. So let us ensure that we continue in this mode. It was most unfortunate that we had to cancel the pupils' concert due to lack of interest. We shall hope to put on another pupils' concert in the Autumn, and need to open this up to more teachers in order to obtain enough DEFINITE responses from our students.
We now look forward to the Easter break - and just a reminder here too:- Our ACM (Annual Centre Meeting) will be on October 7th. A Sunday. Please put a note in your diary.
Yours,
Margaret
(Chairman ISM D and C Centre)
