The show involves over 200 students and staff working on stage, back stage and in the production teams. We are delighted that pupils from Eden Park Primary School will also be joining us for some of the items. The production is the third in a trilogy of dance shows (following ‘Dance Round the World’ in 2006 and ‘Step in Time’ in 2009).
‘Date for a Dance’ includes over 40 routines through which we shall recall, celebrate and commemorate activities in school; dates on the calendar and local, national and international events in 2011. Dances, music and presentations in a whole variety of styles will be included.
It is an opportunity for students of all ages to work together on an extra-curricular project and a chance to raise money to help towards the building of the new Sixth Form Centre and related projects (which we hope will include the enhancement of facilities for Drama and Music).
During the interval, refreshments can be purchased and various stalls visited to the accompaniment of live music by the school’s jazz band.
Seats for the show are unreserved, but admission is by ticket only
– priced £6 for adults and £4 for children.
The box office in school is open every day in the Geography Office between 8:15 and 8:40 and in the foyer between 1:45 and 2:15. Cash and cheques (payable to Churston Ferrers Grammar School) will be accepted at the Box office.
There is also a facility set up for purchase on ‘Parent Pay’. Details of how to order on line are posted there. Tickets purchased in this way must be collected from the Box Office by Tuesday 6th March. (Students need to allow one working day from submission by this method before collection to allow for the order to be processed.) Any further purchases after that date will need to be made direct at the Box Office by cash or cheque.
We are also offering a waiter/waitress served pre-show supper in the sixth form centre with ‘lounge piano’ accompaniment and the following menu -
Roast leg of local chicken in a white wine and mushroom sauce,
vegetable medley and duchesse potatoes
or
Seared salmon fillet in a white wine and tarragon sauce
vegetable medley and duchesse potatoes
or
Goats’ cheese and mixed pepper tart
with leaf salad and mango salsa
followed by Sweet from the trolley Coffee and mints

The doors will open at 6:00 with serving at 6:15. Price £7:95
In order to assist with catering arrangements, all meals need to be pre-booked by Friday 2nd March and space is limited to 50 per evening.
The booking slip for this is attached to the information leaflet which is issued with tickets, or ordering and purchase can be done via parent pay.
