Biographies
Clive Betts
Clive gave his first guitar recital at the age of 15 and was then selected to perform in the BBC Julian Bream Master Class series.
            He continued his studies at the Royal College of Music with Carlos Bonell (guitar) and Diana Poulton (Lute). He was then awarded a Postgraduate year to study composition with Stephen Dodgson.
            Clive now enjoys an international career with concert, festival and radio performances throughout Europe, th Middle East and North America. In London he has also given solo recitals at Southwark Cathedral, The Brazilian Embassy and The Dulwich Picture Gallery.
            On a more intimate note, Clive was invited to give a musical soirée for Salvador and Gala Dali at their Spanish villa, and performed in the Queen's Jubilee celebrations in London, The British Embassy in Helsinki and for the Royal Family of Kuwait.
            His ability to play a wide range of styles from an expansive repertoire has earned Clive work on British and Scandinavian cruise ships. Clive frequently broadcasts on radio in the UK and Scandinavia, and has been filmed for The Travel Show, BBC TV.

Ruth Avis
Ruth read Music and English Literature at Cardiff University, studying flute with Susan Buckland.
            Since graduating she has had tuition from Anna Noakes (of The Fibonacci Sequence) and Michael Cox (Principal Flute, BBCSO) and has played in masterclasses given by Jonathan Snowden.
            She regularly performs throughout the South West in orchestras, chamber ensembles, pit orchestras and as a soloist in venues including Exeter Cathedral, the Northcott Theatre, Cardiff Millennium Centre, and the Barnfield Theatre. Ruth has worked with and performed music by postgraduate composers at Cardiff University and the Dartington College of Arts and recorded the musical The Day Will Come for BBC Radio Devon.
            Ruth combines a busy and varied performing career with running her own flute and piano teaching practice and nurturing a small family.
