Exeter Bach Society will perform the Bach
St. Matthew Passion on March 9th at the Salvation Army Temple, starting at
7.00pm.
The performance will be given in
conjunction with the Exeter Chorale and choir of St. Peter’s School, Lympstone.
This concert was cancelled last year after
snow the night before.
The society performs on of the major Bach
works each year, usually with seasonal relevance. As Easter 2019 approaches, there can be no
better context to perform this monumental and moving work, which calls for a
double choir and orchestra.
The Salvation Army Temple is conveniently
located just a short walk from the cathedral and numerous parking facilities,
and provides a comfortable, and warm, venue.
