Fran Venet was born in Paris. She studied at L'École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts and St Martins School of Art.

Fran lived in Britain for 25 years, where she developed a style of photography and painting involving vibrant natural colours. For many years she photographed and painted the night life at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London.

Annie & Peter
During her time in England, Fran presented many exhibitions in England and France. On Saturday 27 November 1999 she was in Totnes for Annie Gardner & Peter Neumann's "At home with Pee Wee Ellis and Mosaic" at Highfield House.

Pee Wee Ellis
Al Morrison, the recently retired senior lecturer in photography at Westminster University, exhibited digitally enhanced images of jazz musicians alongside Fran's watercolour and oil paintings. Pee Wee Ellis, formerly of "The J.B.'s" (James Brown's band) - and himself a performer at Ronnie Scott's, was supported by South Devon jazz band "Mosaic" in the evening.

Since returning to France in 2003, Fran concentrates on nature studies and abstracts.  Fran teaches and works from her "atelier" (workshop) in the Saumurois village of Le Coudray-Macouard. She continues her regular exhibitions throughout the Département de Maine-et-Loire.
