'Antique Dances' Contemporary Ballet Company to perform at the New Cygnet Theatre Tuesday 28 -Thursday 30 June

From 28th-30th June, Antique Dances will be performing as part of Exeter Fringe Festival at The New Cygnet Theatre in Exeter.

Antique Dances was founded in November 2009 and is a contemporary ballet company based in London. Our first performance was in January 2010 at The Place and since then we have performed at the MDI LEAP Festival in Liverpool, Cadogan Hall in London, Cloud Festival at the Cochrane Theatre, Cultivate and Activate Festival in London, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Beck Theatre in Uxbridge and Resolution 2011.

This year the company has performed in Covent Garden, worked on a short film with Radiohead, performed at Glastonbury Festival and premiered a new production, in conjunction with Iris Theatre London, called 'Circuit'. After finishing Exeter Fringe Festival, Antique Dances will be commencing a 5 week run at the Kings Head Theatre in Islington and 3 nights in Covent Garden.

The company has performed a great deal in London and is developing a reputation for it strong work and dancers. We have received great support and reviews over the last 15 months from people such as LondonDance.com, Dance-Ground.com and TimeOut London. Recent reviews of our latest work 'Slowly We Collide' (which will be performed at Exeter Fringe) called it 'the most arresting and complete new work of the evening' with 'rolling torsos, arched backs and long spiky extensions, which reminded me often of

Wayne McGregor's work but with softer edges' Graham Watts, LondonDance.

Antique Dances are excited to be part of Exeter Fringe and also to be given the opportunity to show our work to a new audience.
