Tomorrow's Classical Journey

Between 10 and 11am on Tuesday two prominent members of the Exeter Bach Society,  Chairman Christopher Parrish and Musical Director Nicholas Marshall.  They will be telling us about the amazing evening of Bach, Handel and Purcell they are preparing for this Saturday evening.  We shall be able to hear about the wonderful soloists who are coming from the Guildhall School of Music to entertain us, the programme and the Society itself.

Towards 11am pianist John Scarfe will join us to tell us about a smaller scale but equally wonderful concert on Saturday morning.  Exeter music student Bethany Partridge will be singing and playing 'cello at Broadclyst with John providing the piano accompaniment.  This concert is free to attend, 10am at Broadclyst Church.

Kentisbeare 'cellist Hilary Boxer will also be with us to tell us about the next 'Tasty Music' concert which will be in the upstairs music room at Exeter Central Library at 12.30 next Monday, 8th November.  Hilary will also be telling us about other 'Tasty Music' concerts, and I may be able to draw her on some of her other marvellous work - in particular with the Kentisbeare Children's Orchestra.

For those without computers, who are listening on the radio we will also have a quick run-down of concerts in Exeter.  Those that took place over the past week will get a brief review.  (See previous posts for a serious review.)  There will also be news of the concerts coming up before next week's show.  This is specially for radio listeners without internet access.  For you technophiles they are also listed below with full details:

Music tomorrow will be provided by the guests - especially guitarist, Clive Betts, who will be playing his Tacamine guitar live in the studio between 11am and 12.  Clive will also be telling us in more detail about the 'Piazzolla Duo' concert next Monday, 8th November, and his new project - The Exeter Guitar Society - which will have its first meeting next Wednesday, 10th November, at 7.30pm in the Academy, Coombe Street (Off South Street), Exeter.

Towards 12 we will include Christine Roxburgh's request.for a song by Edward Elgar.  Stay tuned for that Christine.
