Don't miss the trailer for 'The Ballad of Mary Whyddon' projected on her former home of Chagford. A reminder from ''Chagford Filmmaking Group" - more specifically Elizabeth-Jane Baldry !

The Ballad of Mary Whiddon

Darlings - I am passing on this info from our friends in the Chagford Film Festival. Hope you can make it. I think it'll be evocative and amazing - as if we're recreating Mary's ghost.

The Chagford Film Festival and the Chagford Filmmaking Group present:

The Ballad of Mary Whyddon Outdoor Projection - an exclusive eight minute atmospheric story.

This compelling projection will take place between 7.30pm and 9.30pm on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th September. The eight minute short is a preview of the feature film to be released in 2013, based on the stage play by the late Mary Morton. The film tells the story of Mary Whyddon - the beautiful daughter of Chagford's leading family - who was shot on her wedding day in 1641. Mary lived in the building which is now The Three Crowns; she died and is buried in the church. Her grave in the chancel bears the touching inscription: "Behold a matron yet a maid"

Please take your place in front of The Three Crowns where the story unfolds before the projection moves across the front of Endecott House, swooping through the trees of the churchyard and onto the tower of the Church of St Michael where the tale comes to its heartrending conclusion......or does it?

The film will be accompanied by a haunting, yet explosive soundtrack composed by Elizabeth-Jane Baldry.

*This exciting one-off event is funded by Village SOS
  - funded by the National Lottery's Big Lottery Fund.

Enjoy - Love from the Chagford Film Festival Committee.
